Building an Events Program from Scratch

archive.ai ↗

First events hire. Built the entire function from zero — no playbook, four months, one person.

Designed & produced

Designed and produced a dinner series and after-hours series, including creative direction for custom menus, physical and digital event assets, end-to-end event production, registration management, and outreach direction.

$440K in month one

Hit the program's pipeline goal in half the projected time — generating $440K in qualified pipeline in month one.

Built the playbook

Built SOPs by synthesizing meeting notes, call transcripts, and post-event retros — documentation the team actually used, not a generic template.

Team of one

Operated as a team of one, owning every element from venue sourcing and vendor management to post-event follow-up and reporting.

AI-powered ops

Developed agentic workflows for managing master event databases and team communications, building faster and leaner through AI tooling.

Freelance & Consulting

Independent Event Production & Strategy

VC firms, wellness brands, consumer startups — brought in to produce, consult, and execute.

The clients

Atomic VC, Sana Benefits, Barry's, Birds & Blokes, and Rydir — spanning leadership retreats, all-hands events, VC summits, community activations, UGC production, and social media strategy.

End-to-end

Event strategy, consulting, production, venue sourcing, vendor management, run-of-show creation, and on-site execution.

Consulting

Strategic consulting on event programming, audience development, and format design — advising founders and marketing leads on how to build events that actually move the needle.

Community Work

Thalasso — events, community, and the art of showing up.

Thalasso is a creative event studio I founded. My creative partner Alivia and I run it together — two Brooklyn-based creatives who love throwing events as much as attending them. We design thoughtful experiences rooted in intention, creativity, and play. Past events include Big Picnic, the Barry’s Austin activation for Birds&Blokes, Thalasso x Lil’Chop Salon, and the Thalasso Floral Workshop. For curious creatures who believe the best nights start with “sounds weird — let’s go.”

Fourteen years getting the right people in a room and making something happen. From co-producing world-class events for Fortune 500s to building an entire events department from scratch at a scrappy startup. Lately I’m most excited about where live events meet AI — agentic workflows, creative production, leaner ops. Still believe the best marketing happens in person.

What I do

Event strategy, production, field marketing, creative direction, operations, team management, and consulting — brief through wrap.

How I work

Sleeves rolled up, strategy-first, efficiency-obsessed. I build agentic workflows and AI-powered ops to move faster with smaller teams. SOPs, databases, comms — automated and documented.

What I’m building

I love growing things — whether it’s a rapidly scaling tech brand or a local community. Third spaces, the creative economy, and anything that gets people offline and into a room together.

Website brought to you by self-taught vibe coding.
